Venue Spotlight: Harriet Place
Harriet Place is a light and bright, homey gathering space for intimate events. Located on the corner of 46th and Bryant in South Minneapolis, its namesake comes from the nearby Lake Harriet.
All 1800 square feet of the venue is impeccably decorated and ready for guests to entertain with minimal setup. Lots of crisp whites are a backdrop for saturated pinks paired with gold for a modern and cheerful vibe. Light floods into the space through floor-to-ceiling windows, carrying you from one room to the next.
When you rent this venue, it’s 100% yours: the livingroom-like lounge, the cocktail and buffet space, a galley kitchen for food prep, and another large multipurpose room that can be set with dining or hightop tables. Any event with 10-60 guests is welcome!
Harriet Place is the ideal spot for pre and post wedding activities including engagement parties, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, day-of-wedding prep space for the wedding party, and post-wedding brunches.
Baby showers, anniversary and birthday parties and other social celebrations as well as creative workshops and business events can be hosted here. And holiday parties– perfect– whether for family or corporate.
You can bring in your own food and drinks or have events catered – there are not regulations on this, unlike at many other venues. Other bonuses: there are 11 designated parking spots and typically ample street parking. And this past summer, an outdoor terrace has been added onto the property!
I asked Susan Lacek how she makes sure Harriet Place is inclusive. Her reply: “When we renovated the building, we doubled the size of the bathroom to make it wheelchair accessible and also put in a slope to an exterior door for easy accessibility too. The new outdoor patio also features a level that is wheelchair accessible as well. The bathroom is gender neutral. Harriet Place gladly welcomes same-sex parent/couple wedding and baby showers and other events. All are welcome at Harriet Place!”
