Something Blue Boudoir + Ediflorial

Ali welcomed her precious baby Nora into the world recently, and Jess announced the opening of her own photography studio, so there is much to celebrate!

Jessica Ramaker is the lovely photographer and owner of Something Blue Boudoir, and I was lucky enough to have my first photoshoot with her. Erin Cooney did Ali’s hair and makeup flawlessly, and that was it! A four-woman (not counting the tiny one in utero) show.

I made two crowns for the shoot, one fresh and one dried. For the fresh crown, I chose to keep it very simple. I used ruscus, fuzzy pussywillow, tiny adorable waxflower, and ranunculous in a deep, romantic shade of red.

The dried crown (below) aligns more with desert vibes. On an adjustable frame, this it features dreamy Spanish moss from my friend’s property in Florida; orange gomphrena I helped plant in Vermont last season (my pal Melissa at Tanglebloom graciously sent some to me in the fall); velvety silver brunia; seeded eucalyptus with pods; soft pink strawflower and one blushing bride protea. It is an everlasting crown.

Floral crowns are available for purchase for weddings, birthdays, photoshoots or whatever occasion your heart desires. Dried crowns are beautiful keepsakes.

The shoot took place at Studio Apparatus in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Please contact Jessica at Something Blue Boudoir if you’re interested in pics of yourself in your skivvies (or less)–and allow me to drape you in flowers! They are included in her first couple bookings to celebrate the grand opening of the studio.
